  Friday, March 24, 8 PM

Texas favorite Claus Peter Flor joined Queen Elizabeth Competition prizewinner Baiba Skride in
Mendelssohn's perfect union of melody and virtuosity. From its lyrical slow movement to its sparkling
allegro, Mendelssohn’s concerto charmed the audience in the hands of Skride, one of today’s most
promising artists.

Also on the program, Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony, with its vivid melodic turns, dance-inspired rhythms and engaging coloration.

Prelude, sponsored by UBS, began 50 minutes prior to the performance. KUHF’s Dean Dalton interviewed the remarkable Baiba Skride.
